Bound Base Pro is a high-performance base course that replaces the traditional asphalt or concrete base under a resin bound surface. It builds up thinner than a conventional base, so excavation depth and spoil are reduced, and it is ready to overlay in hours rather than days. This kit covers approximately 4 m² for pedestrian traffic at 15 mm.
What is in the kit
- 4 x 25 kg Bound Base Pro aggregates
- 1 x Bound Base Pro single-part binder
- 100 kN Structural Reinforcement Mesh
Technical data
- Coverage: approximately 4 m² at 15 mm, pedestrian traffic
- Binder: Resin Mill single-part polyurethane resin
- Aggregate: 1-5 mm blend of recycled aggregates
- Reinforcement: 100 kN mesh as standard, against the 50 kN mesh typical of conventional systems
- Fire classification: BFL-s1
- Working temperature: 5 °C to 30 °C
- Foot traffic and overlay window: approximately 2 to 4 hours, so the ResinRox layer can go down the same day
- Full chemical cure: approximately 7 days
- Permeable, suitable for SuDS-compliant build-ups
Typical build-up, pedestrian traffic
- ResinRox resin bound surfacing, 15 mm, with binding quartz incorporated
- Structural Reinforcement Mesh
- Bound Base Pro, 15 mm
- Structural Reinforcement Mesh
- Regulating capping layer, up to 25 mm of 5-10 mm angular stone where required
- MOT Type 3 or equivalent free-draining sub-base, minimum 150 mm
- Geotextile membrane, grade to suit site conditions
Mixed in a forced action mixer for approximately two minutes, laid with a lute and compacted with a trowel or power trowel onto the reinforcement mesh. For driveways and vehicle traffic, use the Bound Base Pro Driveway Kit, which lays at 30 mm. Always confirm the build-up against ground conditions and the expected loading on your project.
